Swim Officials Training Info
MCPS does not maintain a database of high school Officials.
For dual meets and divisionals it has been customary to utilize officials based on their summer league level of certification.
For Regionals and State championship meets the MPSSAA require certification through MPSSAA. This involves taking an annual rules interpretation clinic, which is currently available for the swim season (see below). Certification requirements through MPSSAA are listed on the MPSSAA web site (https://www.mpssaa.org/officials/). Requirements consist of attending an annual online rules interpretation clinic, registering with the dragonfly platform, paying the $40 annual registration fee, affiliating with a local official association and passing an online test.
Year-round, Potomac Valley Swimming (PVS) no longer teaches Stroke & Turn (S&T) clinics. All S&T clinics are online and available to take at any time through USA Swimming University (https://www.pvswim.org/official/training/ST_training.html).
